Water System Improvements
The City of Avon Park has started the water system improvements for Crystal Lake Country Club. Today, the technicians started excavating and prepping the areas that will be improved. Starting tomorrow on Tuesday the 20th, the City will shut down the water system to install isolation valves. The following day on the 21st, we will do a partial shutdown of the water system to install a six-inch (6”) water main to loop the club’s water distribution system. These improvements will help during emergency situations for isolating the affected areas and not be a cause for a complete shut down like prior instances.
Due to the work being performed, there will be a precautionary boil water notice. Once the work is completed, the City will perform sampling for water quality clearance and will follow up with an update once the samples have been cleared and the water is deemed safe for consumption.
