Utility Billing

How do I open an account?

Call our main office for instructions (863) 452-4433.

How long will it take to connect my Utility Service after I submit my application?

We strive for excellent customer service; therefore, we do the best we can to start services as soon as possible. In some cases, we start services the same business day and before closing time of 4:30. There are occasions when we will need extra time to complete your work order. You can check the status of your work order by calling our Customer Service Representatives at (863) 452-4433.

What are the fees to open an account?

Residential Properties

Deposit: $150 + Service Start Up Fee: $30 = Total $180 (Fees may vary and subject to change)

Deposits are not reimbursed to the account holder until account is completely closed out and services are paid in full.

What will I need to bring open an Account?

You will need a lease or contract, and a form of identification. Utility fees are to be paid at the time of service request.

When do I get my Residential Deposit back?

Deposits are kept on active utility accounts and held until the account is completely closed. Once the account closes, we ask for a minimum of 3 weeks to have your check mailed to the mailing address on file. Please update your mailing address when closing your account to forward your deposit.

Will the City waive the deposit?

All accounts require a deposit. You may contact Highlands Agricultural Labor Program for assistance (863) 956-3491. Also, see our Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program | Avon Park Florida page for more help.

Does my property have access to sewer/water?

If your property parcel number starts with an A-**-**-**-***-0000-0000, then it is possible that the City of Avon Park services your property. You may call (863) 452-4433 for more information. To search your parcel number, click here to be redirected to the Highlands County Property Appraiser Website.

This process also helps with permit, zoning, water hookups, and other questions pertaining to a lot/location. Parcel numbers beginning with 'C' need to follow up with Highlands County.
