The map above shows the (3) Boundary Areas of the Avon Park Community Redevelopment Agency (APCRA). The purpose of APCRA is to revitalize targeted areas within the city by promoting economic growth, enhancing public spaces, and supporting local businesses and residents through strategic investments and partnerships. Avon Park CRA's are governed by an:

  • Advisory Board that meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM (unless otherwise scheduled) in the Avon Park Council Chambers. Recommendations from the Advisory Board are then presented to the 

  • CRA Board, who are the same five members that serve as City Council. The CRA Board meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 PM (unless otherwise scheduled), also at the Council Chambers. 

  • Joint CRA workshops and community town halls will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • Saturday, July 18, 2026 – Main Street CRA, Avon Park Community Center
  • Saturday, July 25, 2026 – Southside CRA, Carolina Avenue Church of Christ
  • Saturday, August 1, 2026 – Avon Park Airport CRA, Avon Park Airport

2025-2026 GRANT CYCLE: 

  • (3) Grants Available: Facade Residential, Commercial Interior, Demolition

  • Complete Application & Documentation Due: Facade Grants have reopened. 

  • Commercial Grant Timeline:  Projects must begin within 6 months of approval and finish within 12 months
  • Commercial Grant Amount: The CRA covers the first $5,000. Projects above base grant requires a match unless reduced by Legacy Credit (5% reduction per 5 years of continuous ownership, minimum 25% match). No property may exceed the maximum grant award of $170,000 over its lifetime.

 

STEPS TO APPLY FOR CRA RESIDENTIAL/COMMERCIAL GRANT: 

  1. Obtain three (3) project quotes by licensed and/or insured contractor
  2. Visit City Hall for an application 2nd floor CRA office.
  3. Schedule a meeting with the CRA Office to review application & finalize documentation
