Effective: April 3, 2026, through July 1, 2026
Due to significantly below-average rainfall and declining water levels in aquifers, rivers, and lakes, water use restrictions are now in effect (District Water Restrictions | WaterMatters.org).
Key Restrictions
Lawn Watering
- Limited to once per week
- Assigned day based on address:
- 0–1: Monday
- 2–3: Tuesday
- 4–5: Wednesday
- 6–7: Thursday
- 8–9: Friday
- Allowed watering times:
- 12:01 a.m. – 4:00 a.m. OR
- 8:00 p.m. – 11:59 p.m.
- Properties under 1 acre may only use one of these time windows
What Is Still Allowed
- Hand watering and micro irrigation for plants:
- Before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
- New lawns and plants:
- Special watering allowed for first 60 days
- Pressure washing (for painting/sealing prep)
- Car washing:
- Only on your assigned watering day
- Must use hose with shutoff nozzle
- Emergency and public safety water use is not restricted
Additional Restrictions
- Fountains may operate up to 4 hours per day
- Restaurants serve water only upon request
- HOA rules cannot require increased water use
- Nonprofit car wash fundraisers are generally prohibited
Important Notes
- Applies to both public water and private wells
- Local governments may have stricter rules
- Enforcement will include citations after 14 days

The region is currently experiencing a 13.7-inch rainfall deficit, and water supplies are critically low for this time of year.
