The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the jurisdictional transfer of a segment of S.R. 17 in Avon Park, Florida. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with information regarding the jurisdictional transfer. This includes transfer of ownership of a small segment of the roadway from FDOT to the City of Avon Park. It also provides the opportunity for the public to offer feedback about the transfer for the official hearing record.
You can participate live online or in-person. The information presented during either format will be the same and all attendees will have opportunity to comment.

Attendees can review project displays and speak with the project team one-on-one.
5 p.m. Formal presentation
5:15 p.m. Intermission
Attendees arriving after 5 p.m. can review the transfer information and discuss with the project team.
5:30 p.m. Verbal Comment Taken
Attendees have the opportunity to make a verbal comment for the court reporter to include in the official hearing record.
6 p.m. Verbal testimony (and public hearing) concludes
